Tai Chi
by Nicholas Cupples, Tai Chi Instructor
The practice of Tai Chi provides a profound sense of the interconnectedness of one’s physical, mental, emotional and energetic aspects of self, and many health benefits follow with the healthful circulation of "chi," the internal and external energy flows. The Yang style short form is an introduction to the beautiful and tranquil inner art of Tai Chi in which you will learn how to tap into your own energetic flows through the use of Qi Gong energy cultivation methods.
Yoga
by Stephen Black, Yoga Instructor, "Yoga Cowboy Yoga"
Originally, meditators used yoga stretches for relief during long meditation periods. Sitting crosslegged for hours on hours stiffened the body and made meditative concentration difficult. Stretching freed the body, and meditators found that the mind was also more supple and focused as a result. Over centuries, guided by the belief that a flexible mind required an equally flexible body, practitioners refined the postures and the order in which they are performed. As a result, doing yoga, especially while remaining connected to the breath, makes meditation more accessible both to experienced and first-time meditators by giving rise to the feelings of inner stability, groundedness, and peacefulness that settle the body and mind.
